چکیده
It is pointed out that a cavity supernova explosion of a moving massive star could result in a significant offset of the neutron star birthplace from the centre of the nearly spherical supernova remnant. Therefore: a) the high implied transverse velocities of a number of neutron stars (e.g. PSR B 1757-24, SGR 0526-66, 1E 0820-4247) could be reduced; b) the proper motion vector of the neutron star should not necessary point away from the geometrical centre of the associated supernova remnant; c) the circle of possible neutron star/supernova remnant associations could be enlarged.

Neutron Star/supernova Remnant Associations: the View from Tbilisi
We propose a new approach for studying the neutron star/supernova remnant associations, based on the idea that the supernova remnants (SNRs) can be products of an off-centered supernova (SN) explosion in a preexisting bubble created by the wind of a moving massive star. A cavity SN explosion of a moving star results in a considerable offset of the neutron star (NS) birth-place from the geometri...
متن کاملDirect Measurement of Neutron-Star Recoil in the Oxygen-Rich Supernova Remnant Puppis A
A sequence of three Chandra X-ray Observatory High Resolution Camera images taken over a span of five years reveals arc-second-scale displacement of RX J0822–4300, the stellar remnant (presumably a neutron star) near the center of the Puppis A supernova remnant. We measure its proper motion to be 0.165±0.025 arcsec yr toward the west-southwest. At a distance of 2 kpc, this corresponds to a tran...
متن کاملNeutron Stars in Supernova Remnants and Beyond
We discuss a concept of off-centred cavity supernova explosion as applied to neutron star/supernova remnant associations and show how this concept could be used to preclude the anti-humane decapitating the Duck (G 5.4−1.2 + G 5.27−0.9) and dismembering the Swan (Cygnus Loop), as well as to search for a stellar remnant associated with the supernova remnant RCW86.
متن کاملSupernova remnant S 147 and its associated neutron star ( s )
The supernova remnant S 147 harbors the pulsar PSR J 0538+2817 whose characteristic age is more than an order of magnitude greater than the kinematic age of the system (inferred from the angular offset of the pulsar from the geometric center of the supernova remnant and the pulsar proper motion). To reconcile this discrepancy we propose that PSR J 0538+2817 could be the stellar remnant of the f...
متن کاملJ an 2 00 3 Phase Coherent Timing of PSR J 1811 – 1925 : The Pulsar at the Heart of G 11 . 2 – 0 . 3
The X-ray Pulsar PSR J1811–1925 in the historic supernova remnant G11.2–0.3 has a characteristic age over 10 times the age of the remnant. This likely implies that its current spin period, 65 ms, is close to its birth spin period. Alternatively, the pulsar may have an unusually high braking index. We report here on regular Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer / Proportional Counting Array (RXTE /PCA) ti...
